Cudell's modern small four-cylinder family, first shown at Berlin at 16 hp in 1903 and developed under Karl Slevogt into the 2,554 cc 16/20 HP for 1904. It used a vertical front radiator, four forward speeds, reverse and shaft drive, and was offered with passenger, light-delivery and light-truck coachwork. At New York the five-passenger wood-and-steel chassis was advertised for $4,500 with a 16 hp air-cooled four; a 22 hp water-cooled alternative was also listed. The US source gives a remarkably short 1,892 mm wheelbase, so that dimension is qualified as the export listing rather than generalized to every European 16/20. The 1903 16 HP and 1904 16/20 represent one developing family, not two confidently distinct platforms.
