BRA427
Separate wide-bodied Cobra 427 replica designed by Gerry Hawkridge, later founder of Hawk Cars. It was not merely a big-engine trim of BRA's narrower 289: it had its own project identity and tooling. BRA's retrospective dates it to 1984–1986 and says 38 were sold before the project went to a Spanish company amid reported Ford/AC pressure; the Steve Hole-derived marque table instead gives 1981–1982 and 12 examples before transfer to a German company. Because accessible evidence cannot reconcile those contradictions, the broad possible window and both totals/transferee accounts are exposed rather than fabricated into a precise chronology.
Dates with their meaning intact
This record contains useful sourced evidence, but it does not yet meet the reference-ready standard. Still needed: attributed imagery. Fields we cannot source stay empty rather than guessed.
Published totals conflict between 12 and 38 kits/cars; neither figure is silently preferred.
