Higher-advertised-output fore-door touring identity. Its separate D-40 designation is retained because the period range distinguished it from D-35 even though the accessible January 1912 table groups the body records under the same 251.3-cu-in A30 mechanical series. The table's 25.6 ALAM rating and the model table's 40 hp claim are different rating conventions, not grounds to invent another displacement. The generic $1,250 touring price is not assigned specifically.

This record contains useful sourced evidence, but it does not yet meet the reference-ready standard. Still needed: attributed imagery. Fields we cannot source stay empty rather than guessed.

Research notes

No surviving factory chassis ledger or model allocation has been recovered. Contemporary sales and competition evidence proves manufacture, but neither marque-wide nor model-specific production totals are asserted.
