Experimental predecessor built by Édouard Delamare-Deboutteville and Léon Malandin at the Mont-Grimont mill. FFVE places the original town-gas tricycle in 1882, with petroleum use reported after gas-supply difficulties in 1883. These were fuel-development stages of one test machine, not catalog models or evidence of a manufacturing company.
