One-off adaptation of a horse-drawn hunting break developed and road-tested near Fontaine-le-Bourg. Its 12 February 1884 patent concerned an improved gas engine and applications, making it a major early French milestone but not uncontested proof of the world's first automobile. The 1,800 kg laden figure comes from FFVE; a conflicting 392 kg chronology is not substituted. Coil ignition, heated-wick carburettor, muffler and 10 km/h are reported/reconstruction-derived rather than a retail specification.
