Cumbria Motors' securely documented production vehicle and the machine contemporary writers normally called simply the Cumbria monocar. Standard reference works give the 8/10 HP a 2,286 mm wheelbase and two very similar V-twin engine forms of 964 or 995 cc; those capacities are retained as variants of one model rather than inflated into duplicate identities. A Light Car and Cyclecar road test appeared on 20 April 1914. A reader reporting on it three weeks later said his example had left the works only three or four days before a trouble-free 60–70-mile passenger run, praised its hill performance, acceleration and springing, and specifically identified a comfortable dickey seat. The same 11 May factory survey called the Cumbria a well-known monocar and said the Cockermouth works was producing it. These contemporary statements establish real manufacture and use, but do not supply a production count, engine supplier, transmission specification, dimensions beyond the reference-work wheelbase, price or verified top speed.
