CournilTracteur Cournil JA1
First vehicle homologated under Cournil's own Tracteur identity. It combined the recognizable Jeep/Hotchkiss body with Cournil's reinforced frame, replacement gearbox components and tractor-derived diesel. Dana live axles, leaf springs, power take-off and farm implements supported ploughing, mowing, lifting and trailer work. The family archive's 1959 homologation date and the commonly cited 1960 commercial start describe different milestones, not conflicting model years.
Dates with their meaning intact
This record contains useful sourced evidence, but it does not yet meet the reference-ready standard. Still needed: attributed imagery. Fields we cannot source stay empty rather than guessed.
Included in Alain Cournil's family figure of 1,087 Cournil vehicles for 1960–1977; no JA1-only allocation survives.
