Cadwallader Washburn Kelsey's one-off conventional car, created after leaving Maxwell-Briscoe and briefly working for Columbia. Intended to rival the Ford Model T, it proved too expensive for Kelsey's low-price objective and never entered production. The published 104-inch wheelbase and four-cylinder touring layout distinguish it from both the earlier Kelsey-Tilney Auto-Tri and the three-wheel Motorette that followed. Spartan is retained as the documented prototype badge, not confused with unrelated Spartan marques.
