FerrariSF90 Stradale
Ferrari's first series-production plug-in hybrid, and the most powerful road car the marque had yet built.
When Ferrari revealed the SF90 Stradale in 2019, it marked the company's first series-production plug-in hybrid road car. Beneath the sculpted bodywork sits a 3,990 cc twin-turbocharged V8 paired with three electric motors: one mounted at the rear between engine and gearbox and one driving each front wheel. That arrangement gives the mid-engined car all-wheel drive, a departure for a Ferrari of this type.
The combined system output is what set the car apart at launch. Together the V8 and its electric motors produce 1,000 PS (986 hp), figures that made the SF90 Stradale the most powerful road-going Ferrari the company had built. A 7.9 kWh lithium-ion battery feeds the three motors and allows short stretches of electric-only running, with the two front motors driving the front wheels.
Performance matched the promise. Ferrari quoted 0-100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and a top speed of 340 km/h. In its lightest Assetto Fiorano trim, which sheds mass through carbon-fibre and titanium components, the car carries a dry weight of 1,570 kg. Offered as both a fixed-roof Stradale and an open-top Spider, the SF90 established the template Ferrari would carry into its electrified flagships.
The Ferrari SF90 Stradale is a mid-engine PHEV sports car produced by the Italian automobile manufacturer Ferrari. The car shares its name with the SF90 Formula One car with 90 standing for the 90th anniversary of the Scuderia Ferrari racing team and also "Stradale", an Italian word for "made for the road".
