Bushbury ElectricThree-Wheel Dogcart

1897 United Kingdom Open electric dogcart 1 production year
Production1897
Recorded originUnited Kingdom
ClassOpen electric dogcart

Best-attested Bushbury vehicle, attributed to Thomas Hugh Parker and the Electric Construction Company with a rolling chassis made by Star Cycle Company of Wolverhampton. It was prepared for a Crystal Palace-to-Birmingham self-propelled road-vehicle race cancelled for lack of entrants. Steering by reins and the dogcart body deliberately echoed horse transport. Range was described only as limited; speed, battery chemistry, gearing, dimensions and seating count are not safely recoverable.

This record contains useful sourced evidence, but it does not yet meet the reference-ready standard. Still needed: attributed imagery. Fields we cannot source stay empty rather than guessed.

Research notes

One photographed/reported rein-controlled machine is documented; broader references may count configurations rather than additional completed chassis.
