Three complete, type-approved CS development cars were finished in 2016 after the BMS R1 racing precursor. They accumulated road testing and later served as MSF Malaysian race-series safety cars. Their shared development identity is kept separate from both the 2009 competition-only BMS R1 and the substantially specified 2025 CS8 production model.
