Brough1898 Small Car
William Edward Brough's first known complete motor vehicle, built in Basford before his better-recorded motorcycle business. Surviving histories identify it only as a small car and preserve no photograph-derived dimensions, seating layout, transmission, steering, engine specification or registration. It remains separate from the subsequent De Dion-powered tricycle because the sources explicitly place a small car first. The transparent descriptive name avoids inventing a factory model designation.
Dates with their meaning intact
This record contains useful sourced evidence, but it does not yet meet the reference-ready standard. Still needed: attributed imagery. Fields we cannot source stay empty rather than guessed.
One documented experimental car; no series manufacture is evidenced.
