BR EngineeringBR1
Clean-sheet non-hybrid LMP1 developed jointly by BR Engineering and Dallara for the 2018–19 FIA World Endurance Championship. It was announced in Bahrain in 2016, designed during 2017 at Dallara's Parma facilities with Russian and European engineers and student participation, and unveiled on 17 November 2017 after track testing. The carbon-fibre monocoque accommodated materially different engine installations: SMP used the AER twin-turbo V6, while DragonSpeed used the Gibson naturally aspirated V8. Both drove the rear wheels through a six-speed paddle-shift Xtrac transmission with mechanical limited-slip differential and Tilton multidisc carbon clutch. Separate Le Mans and sprint aerodynamic kits followed extensive wind-tunnel work. The model raced only in the 2018–19 WEC super-season, scoring the leading privateer finish and third overall at the 2019 24 Hours of Le Mans; the racing season is not treated as additional manufacture after the four-car build.
Dates with their meaning intact
This record contains useful sourced evidence, but it does not yet meet the reference-ready standard. Still needed: attributed imagery. Fields we cannot source stay empty rather than guessed.
Contemporary technical reporting states three BR1 chassis went to SMP Racing and one to DragonSpeed.
