Wells Motor Cars grew from Robin Wells's 2014 idea for a lightweight, usable British sports car. The mid-engined Vertige prototype was developed with Warwickshire engineering partners, shown publicly in 2021 and moved into limited hand-built production in the 2020s near Gaydon. The catalog records Wells as an active small-volume British manufacturer and keeps the Vertige separate from unrelated Wells names and from the earlier Wells & Wellesley automobile company.
