Carrozzeria Touring was founded in Milan in 1926 by Felice Bianchi Anderloni and immediately won commissions from Alfa Romeo, Isotta Fraschini and other manufacturers. Its patented Superleggera lightweight body construction became a defining feature of many celebrated prewar and postwar sports cars, including bodies for Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati and Aston Martin. The original coachbuilding business wound down in the 1960s, while a modern Touring Superleggera operation revived the name; the catalog preserves Touring as a coachbuilder rather than a stand-alone mass-production marque.
