Seres Auto (Hubei) was incorporated in 2003 as Dongfeng Sokon Automobile, a manufacturing joint venture between Dongfeng Motor and Sokon Group. It produced DFSK commercial vehicles and later Fengon passenger models at facilities in Hubei and Chongqing. After Dongfeng withdrew and Sokon evolved into Seres Group, the company adopted the Seres Auto name while remaining the industrial entity behind several group marques.
