San Motors India developed the San Storm, a lightweight two-seat fiberglass roadster introduced in 1998. Designed with French Le Mans Group input, assembled in Bangalore and Goa, and powered by a Renault 1.2-litre engine, the car was intended to make a simple Indian sports car available at modest cost. Production is commonly recorded through 2013, with only a small number made; the catalog keeps San distinct from the later UAE Sandstorm name and from Renault as the engine supplier.
