Reva Electric Car Company was established in 1994 as a joint venture between India's Maini Group and Amerigon Electric Vehicle Technologies of the United States. It developed the compact REVA electric car, launched in India in 2001, and supplied cars to the United Kingdom where GoinGreen sold them as the G-Wiz. Mahindra acquired the company in 2010 and the business later became Mahindra Electric; the catalog keeps Reva as the original electric-car identity and distinguishes it from the later Mahindra e2o and G-Wiz marketing name.
