Moto Guzzi was formally established in Genoa on 15 March 1921 by Carlo Guzzi, Giorgio Parodi and Emanuele Vittorio Parodi. Its motorcycles have been built at Mandello del Lario, where the company developed influential racing machines and innovations including the transverse V-twin that became its signature. After several ownership changes, Moto Guzzi became part of Piaggio Group and continued producing motorcycles under the winged-eagle emblem.
