MBM stood for Monteverdi Binningen Motors, Peter Monteverdi's small Swiss competition and sports-car operation. An open MBM Sport was shown in 1960, followed by the fiberglass-bodied MBM Tourismo in 1961–62; likely only two Tourismos and one Sport were built. The Tourismo used a Heron Europa body and Ford Anglia mechanicals, while Monteverdi's main business remained racing preparation before he developed the later Monteverdi road-car marque. The catalog keeps MBM separate from Monteverdi, Heron Plastics and the later Monteverdi High Speed series.
