MBI, or Motor Bike Imports, was the American business behind the Safari moped and mini-bike identity. Historical coverage of Zanetti Motori records the name as a successor to First American Bicizeta in the mid-1960s, with MBI commissioning MZV-built Safari Scat mini bikes in 1968–69 and later working with the Rovet operation on Safari mopeds in the 1970s. The catalog treats Mbi as the exact NHTSA make associated with Safari motorcycles and mopeds, not as a separate Zanetti manufacturer and not as the modern MBI acronym used by unrelated companies.
