About the marque
Founded

Country
United States

Maxey began in Fort Collins, Colorado, in 1969 as Maxey Manufacturing, founded by agricultural engineer Loren Maxey to build trailers and truck bodies. The business expanded into specialized trailers, truck upfitting and trailer sales, and changed its corporate name to Maxey Companies while retaining Maxey Manufacturing as the trailer-manufacturing operation. MGS Incorporated acquired Maxey Companies in 2014, with the Colorado operation continuing within MGS's trailer-products division. The catalog identifies this as a commercial trailer and equipment maker, not a passenger-car marque.
