Max Horlacher is the vehicle-design identity of Max Horlacher AG, founded in Möhlin, Switzerland, in 1962 by Max Horlacher. The company initially made lightweight fiberglass and composite body parts and railway components; its vehicle-construction division began in 1985 with the Migros MEV1 solar-rally project. Horlacher subsequently developed electric prototypes and small series including the GL-88 EGG, city and sport families, Blue Angel hybrid, Saxikurier and the TAZI people mover. The vehicle projects are distinguished from the parent company's continuing composite-component business, and prototype or small-series names are not inflated into mass-production claims. The catalog keeps Max Horlacher separate from individual vehicle project names such as Saxi and from donor or commissioning companies.
