Marrel was founded in France in 1919 by Antoine Marrel, who developed cable-operated tipping equipment for mining and road transport. The company introduced the Multibenne skiploader in 1950 and the Ampliroll hydraulic hooklift in 1970, then expanded internationally and joined the Italian Fassi Group in 2013. Its current production in Andrézieux-Bouthéon covers bodies, hooklifts, skips and related equipment for commercial vehicles rather than passenger cars. The catalog preserves Marrel as an admitted road-equipment identity and does not mistake its NHTSA entry for a conventional automobile marque.
