Maple was revived in 2020 as an electric-vehicle marque by a joint venture associated with Geely and Kandi, reusing the name of the earlier Shanghai Maple company. Its initial cars adapted Geely-based compact models for battery-electric use, including the Maple 30X and 80V. The brand was later integrated into Geely's Livan operation as the group reorganized its battery-swapping and value-EV activities.
