LMX Automobile S.R.L., or Linea Moderna Executive, was founded in Italy by Michel Liprandi and Giovanni Mandelli to develop the Sirex sports car. The Franco Scaglione-designed two-seat coupé and spider debuted as a prototype at the 1968 Turin show and used a Ford Taunus V6 on a backbone chassis. LMX and its Turin assembly partners completed only a small number of cars before the company failed; SAMAS finished additional chassis after 1973 and sold them as Sirex LMS. The catalog keeps LMX separate from the SAMAS successor phase and from later kit-car uses of the Sirex name.
