Irisbus was created in 1999 when the bus and coach divisions of Iveco and Renault Véhicules Industriels were combined into a French-Italian group. Iveco acquired Renault's share in 2003, after which Irisbus operated as an Iveco-owned bus and coach business. The Irisbus name was retired in 2013 when Iveco introduced Iveco Bus as the replacement brand. The catalog keeps the Irisbus identity distinct from Iveco's Daily van and from the many predecessor bus makers—Renault Bus, Karosa, Berliet, Pegaso and Iveco—that contributed products to the group.
