Hydrolift began in Fredrikstad, Norway, in 1985 as a builder of high-performance recreational and professional boats. Bård Eker acquired the original company's assets and name in 2002, expanding the range from signature daycruisers to professional rescue, police and fire platforms; Hydrolift remains associated with the Eker Group's Norwegian marine production. The NHTSA make/model entry for Pontoon does not by itself prove that it is the same legal entity, and the catalog does not reinterpret the boat company as an automobile manufacturer. Hydrolift is retained because the admitted record carries the name, with the marine identity clearly stated.
