Hooper

Hooper began in London as a carriage-building business traced to 1805–07 and became Hooper & Co. in 1846. It moved into motor-car bodies around 1900, building exceptionally elaborate bespoke bodies for Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Daimler chassis and supplying royal and diplomatic customers. The original coachbuilding operation ended in 1959 after its acquisition by the Birmingham Small Arms group, although the Hooper name later returned through sales, service and revival projects. The catalog treats Hooper as a coachbuilder and body identity, not as a manufacturer of the Rolls-Royce or Daimler chassis it clothed, and separates it from the unrelated NHTSA trailer registration using the same name.
