Abendroth & Root, a long-established Newburgh manufacturer of boilers and sanitation equipment, entered automobile production in 1906 under the Frontenac name. This Newburgh marque was unrelated to the later Frontenac Motor Corporation. Its large-displacement four-cylinder passenger cars targeted upper-middle-class buyers, with only twelve built in the first year and annual output peaking near one hundred in 1907. Models C, D and E shared substantially the same chassis and differed mainly by bodywork, while Model F covered three- and five-ton trucks. Falling demand led the company to end Frontenac production in 1913 and return to its original industrial business.
