Electric Last Mile Solutions was formed in 2020 to develop and assemble compact battery-electric delivery and utility vans. It became publicly traded through a special-purpose acquisition merger in June 2021 and planned production at the former Hummer plant in Mishawaka, Indiana. Governance and financing problems overtook the startup before volume production was established, and ELMS entered Chapter 7 liquidation in June 2022.
