Ecosse was the car identity of Ecosse Car Company Ltd. in Knebworth, England. The company grew from the AC 3000ME project after John Parsons and Aubrey Woods acquired the design, renamed the car the Ecosse Signature and developed a road-legal pre-series example in 1988–89. Financing prevented the planned small-series production, and the marque is generally dated to about 1988–90. The catalog records Ecosse as a British sports-car project, distinct from the modern eCOSSE Moto Works motorcycle company founded in the United States in 2001, from AC Cars and from the unrelated Scottish geographic name.
