CODASedan
CODA's only production model, derived from the Pininfarina-styled Hafei Saibao III glider but substantially re-engineered as a battery electric car. Chinese-built gliders and Lishen lithium-iron-phosphate cells were combined with a Colorado-made UQM motor and final assembly at Benicia, California. The retail 31 kWh version carried an EPA rating of 88 miles and 73 MPGe combined, a 6.6 kW onboard charger, roughly six-hour 240 V full charge, $37,250 base MSRP, 85 mph maximum and 10-year/100,000-mile battery warranty. Earlier 33.8 kWh prototypes and a proposed higher-range battery option are development/configuration stages of the Sedan, not separate models. First customer deliveries occurred March 19, 2012; bankruptcy ended the program in 2013 and remaining stock was liquidated.
Dates with their meaning intact
This record contains useful sourced evidence, but it does not yet meet the reference-ready standard. Still needed: attributed imagery. Fields we cannot source stay empty rather than guessed.
NHTSA's 2013 curtain-airbag recall covered 117 model-year-2012 vehicles; CODA separately reported more than 100 retail/fleet sales. Neither figure proves total chassis or prototype output.
