Clipper (steam automobile)Steam Stanhope
Production1902
Recorded originUnited States
ClassTwo-passenger open stanhope/runabout with victoria top
Sole documented Clipper automobile family, nearly identical to the 1901 Michigan Steam Car/Carter Steam Stanhope. It used lever steering, 32-inch wire wheels, tufted leather seating, a grained-leather dashboard and a victoria top; the predecessor Michigan was priced complete at $1,000, but a separate Clipper price is not securely published. This row does not include Packard's later Clipper model or unrelated Clipper manufacturers.

How this is measured → This record contains useful sourced evidence, but it does not yet meet the reference-ready standard. Still needed: attributed imagery. Fields we cannot source stay empty rather than guessed.
Research notes
Only a few Clipper steam cars were completed before failure later in 1902; no exact total or serial ledger survives.
