Ciimo

Ciimo (思铭, also transliterated Siming) was Dongfeng Honda Automobile's China-only subordinate marque. It must not be confused with Canada's Chimo kit car. Dongfeng Honda's R&D center previewed its first locally developed product in 2011 and formally launched the Ciimo 1.8 at the April 2012 Beijing show. The sedan reused the eighth-generation Honda Civic platform and Japanese-market-derived styling after Honda itself had moved to the ninth generation. Its 1.8-litre i-VTEC engine came with manual or automatic transmission. Official dimensions were 4,545 × 1,755 × 1,450 mm on a 2,700 mm wheelbase, combined fuel use was 6.9 L/100 km, and base price was 111,800 yuan. OICA attributed 14,160 vehicles to Dongfeng Honda-Ciimo in 2012. A well-sourced history places production ending in April 2015, while reported sales of 2,354 in 2015 and 1,176 in 2016 explain references extending availability through 2016; the catalog records production separately from residual registration. Ciimo then went dormant. Dongfeng Honda revived the badge in 2019 for electric compliance and market expansion. The X-NV, previewed as a concept at Auto Shanghai and launched in October, was an electric Honda XR-V derivative developed jointly with Honda Motor China. It used a 53.6 kWh battery and 120 kW/280 N·m permanent-magnet motor, claimed 401 km combined range and 14.09 kWh/100 km, and measured 4,280 × 1,772 × 1,625 mm on a 2,610 mm wheelbase. Its two launch trims cost 169,800 and 179,800 yuan after subsidy; 30–80% fast charging was quoted at thirty minutes. The restyled M-NV followed in November 2020. At 4,324 × 1,785 × 1,637 mm on the same wheelbase, it used a reported 61.3 kWh battery and 120 kW/280 N·m motor for a 480 km NEDC claim. Specialist catalog evidence places M-NV through May 2023 and X-NV through 2024. Neither appears in Dongfeng Honda's current official model list, so the marque is treated as dormant/ended after 2024 rather than falsely open-ended. No authoritative cumulative production totals, VIN split, full trim-year ledger or formal corporate dissolution exists; Ciimo was a badge owned by the continuing joint venture, not a separate company.
