Chrysler Europe was assembled between 1964 and 1967 from Chrysler's acquisitions of Rootes in Britain, Simca in France and Barreiros in Spain. The division marketed locally developed vehicles under Chrysler and inherited marques while trying to coordinate three distinct product operations. Financial losses led Chrysler to sell the European business to PSA in 1978, after which many models were rebranded Talbot.
