The sole Cambridge-badged complete family, resembling an MG J2 but without doors and built around retained Austin Seven chassis and running gear. Cambridge offered a standard shell for the shorter chassis and a lengthened shell for 1932-on Seven frames; those wheelbase accommodations are variants of one body/model, not separate generations. Cars could be owner-assembled or completed and tuned by Cambridge Engineering. Surviving vehicles may carry their donor Austin year and registration, so pre-1958 chassis dates do not move Cambridge marque production backward. Bowdenex independent suspension, alloy cylinder heads, twin SU carburettors, remote shifts, smaller wheels and competition preparation were optional modifications. Speedex Silverstone bodies marketed after the 1962 acquisition remain Speedex products rather than Cambridge model derivatives.
