Mora automobile engineer William H. Birdsall and assistant Arthur M. See developed the Browniekar at Newark, New York, in 1908. The tiny two-seat roadster was promoted as harmless sport and amusement for young people but used a real 3.5 hp four-stroke engine and 66-inch wheelbase. The initial Child's Automobile Company name was soon judged unsuitable and became Omar Motor Car Company—Omar being an anagram of Mora and operating as its subsidiary. At $150 the Browniekar occupied an unusual boundary between toy and automobile; roughly 300 are reported built through 1911 and three survivors are known. No second factory model is documented.
