Former Lyncar Engineering contributor Bruce Hazelgrove founded Britton Hazelgrove at Wooburn Green in 1987. The public badge was Britton and its sole model was named Hazelgrove. Built on Triumph Herald chassis and mechanicals, the front-engined rear-drive two-seater used a partly aluminium body deliberately resembling the first-generation Lotus Seven. Only about two examples emerged before the business ended in the same year, making the Hazelgrove the complete Britton range.
