Recorded originUnited Kingdom
ClassTwo-door fastback coupé kit car

British continuation of the German Fiberfab FT Bonito, using its glass-fibre-reinforced-plastic fastback shell on an unshortened Volkswagen Beetle backbone chassis. ACM imported kits in 1981 and acquired the rights in 1982; AED International produced them in 1983–84 and Bonito Performance Center in 1984–85. The design incorporated production-car glazing and hardware, including Ford Taunus windscreen/headlamps, Opel Rekord or Commodore coupé rear glass and Karmann Ghia Type 34 taillamps. Donor year, engine size and home-build completion are configurations rather than models. Later bodies made to order by Whitfield Specialist Cars were replacement/reproduction shells, not a new Bonito production generation.
