Bombardier

Bombardier's admitted Outlander identity belongs to the Canadian recreational-products lineage founded by Joseph-Armand Bombardier. After developing tracked snow vehicles in Valcourt, Bombardier founded L'Auto-Neige Bombardier Limitée in 1942; the Ski-Doo snowmobile followed in 1959, and the recreational-products business entered the ATV market in 1998. In 2003 Bombardier sold that division, which became the independent BRP organization and later marketed ATV and side-by-side products under Can-Am. The catalog retains Bombardier as the historical source label for the Outlander record, but does not imply that every current BRP product is still a Bombardier-branded vehicle or that Bombardier's aircraft, rail and transportation businesses belong to this powersports chronology. The corporate transition is recorded as succession, not as a fabricated clean break in engineering continuity.
