Mick Mahoney founded BM Car Things in Basingstoke in 1971 and marketed its cars simply as BM. The sole model was a Volkswagen Beetle-based dune buggy related in appearance to the GP idiom but with different rear treatment. Buyers could select kits for shortened or unshortened chassis, complete vehicles, eighty standard colors and optional metallic finish. Approximately 36 examples were produced before manufacture ended in 1972. The geographic qualifier separates this BM from many unrelated automotive abbreviations.
