Designer Richard Oakes established Blackjack Cars in Helston, Cornwall, and began Avion production in 1996. The open, doorless two-seater placed two driven wheels ahead of a single rear wheel and combined a proprietary chassis and fiberglass body with Citroën 2CV mechanicals; 69 were built through 2004. The Volkswagen Beetle-powered Zero succeeded it in 2005, followed by the lighter Moto Guzzi-engined Guzzi variant in 2008. Kit availability ended in June 2013. The three named phases form the complete documented Blackjack production catalog.
