Best

Best was a very small French automobile producer whose surviving record is contradictory. One standard reference places the works at Courbevoie and says production both began and ended in 1921. Another identifies Asnières-sur-Seine and gives a broader 1919–23 manufacturing period. The source-universe dates that claim a 1921 founding but 1920 dissolution are therefore internally impossible and have been corrected to the inclusive historical evidence window, with 1921 retained as the only uncontested year. Best offered one conventional open touring car. A front-mounted 1,944 cc four-cylinder engine supplied by Janvier, Sabin et Cie drove the rear axle. No reliable public type designation, horsepower rating, chassis dimensions, gearbox detail, coachwork menu, price, production quantity, proprietor or successor is preserved in accessible sources. Rather than turning those absences into invented specifications, the catalog records one Touring Car and makes the chronology dispute explicit.
