Robert Bellanger and his brothers established their Neuilly-sur-Seine automobile concern in 1912. Prewar cars used quiet Daimler sleeve-valve fours from 2.0 to 6.3 litres, with smaller versions popular as Paris taxis. After military work during the First World War, Valentin Laviolette designed a three-model range around Briscoe four-cylinder engines and Bellanger's imposing 6.34-litre V8 Type F. The brothers sold the factory in 1925. De Dion-Bouton briefly revived the badge on its JP-derived B1 in 1927–1928 before Bellanger automobile identity finally disappeared.
