Engineer Hermann Busse operated Busse Elektromobil-Bau in Magdeburg by 1921. Depending on the reference, production of its BEB-badged electric cyclecars began in 1921 or 1922. The small battery vehicles seated one or two people, but surviving summaries preserve neither a formal type name nor detailed motor and battery specifications. Passenger-car manufacture ended in 1923 as the enterprise became Busse-Werke and concentrated on motorcycles and, later, commercial tricycles. BEB therefore remains distinct from the subsequent Busse vehicle badge.
