Beaufort Motor Company operated from Baker Street in London but manufactured primarily at Baden in Germany using English capital and selling solely in the United Kingdom. The 1901 belt-driven single-cylinder car gave way to a broad shaft-drive range in 1902: 6 and 9 hp singles, 12 and 18 hp twins, 14 and 24 hp fours, and later 24/32 hp four and 30 hp six. The 12 hp also served as a taxi. A Beaufort became the first motor vehicle to climb Copenhagen's Round Tower in 1902. Production ended in 1906; one survivor participates in the London to Brighton Run.
