Beardalls of Nottingham became a Volkswagen dealer in 1954 and later distributed GP Volkswagen-based buggies. From 1971 through 1973 it briefly produced its own Beardalls-badged Buggy, a complete car closely patterned on the GP design rather than a customer-assembled kit. Approximately six examples were completed. The company's ordinary Volkswagen sales and its celebrated Beetle-bodied Type 2 advertising vehicle retained Volkswagen identities and are not counted as Beardalls models, leaving the Buggy as the complete marque range.
