Beach Buggies of Southport began manufacturing in Lancashire in 1971 and used the public name Beach Buggy. Its sole product was a Volkswagen-based dune buggy similar in broad form to the GP design but recognizable by round, faired-in headlights. Both kits and complete automobiles were offered. Approximately ten examples were produced before operations ended in 1972. The qualified geographic identity separates this company from numerous unrelated makers using the generic beach-buggy description.
