Milanese engineer Silvio Barison founded Fabbrica Automobili Barison & C. at Livorno in 1922 and displayed a car at that year's Milan motor show. Unlike many small assemblers, Barison designed its own four-cylinder sleeve-valve engine in two sizes: 1,995 cc and a 2,474 cc version rated at 55 hp. The company produced only twenty-five automobiles across both versions before financial problems stopped manufacture in 1925. No reliable separate chassis or body type names survive, so the two documented engine classes form the complete defensible model register.
